He brains himself against the cage

Readercon 2007 Loot

My loot from the Den of Iniquity, I mean, the Book Store at Readercon.

Sarah Beth Durst, Into the Wild, signed and everything, from Pandemonium Books.
Lisa Goldstein, The Dream Years for $1!!!
Shirley Jackson, We Have Always Lived in the Castle--filomancer told me to buy this one.
Keith Laumer: Reward for Retief, Retief and the Warlords, and The Return of Retief, none of which I had already, despite a deep and abiding love for the Retief books in my teens.
Elizabeth Wein: The Sunbird to get signed and support Pandemonium even though I already had it, and a copy of The Lion Hunter that I was given.

A small haul as bookloot goes, but I was trying to be discreet.

It is not a bad thing to be discreet. [ahem]

I have all these icons, and I never use them.

Send me links to cool pictures that I could use for more icons that I probably will only use once in a blue moon.
Grr!

the job search marches on

Tomorrow at noon is the interview for what seems to be the job of my dreams. Maybe I am wrong. If so, I will find out tomorrow. I printed copies of my resume (revised and tidied from the one they have), my references (which they requested I bring), and a writing sample (I used a book review). Have to decide what to wear. It will be hot tomorrow, but supposedly not dangerously so, like today and yesterday.

Yesterday's interview was good, and the job had more writing and less financial stuff than I'd expected, which was to the good. I sent my writing samples this morning, and was told I'd been chosen for a second interview, probably within the next week or two. They're looking to fill the position by mid-August.

Perhaps I will do some brainless yet calming things tonight, and make sure I get a good night's sleep.
