Macmillan aryballos

BPAL: Athens

A reformulation and modernization of a true Classical Greek perfume, myrrhine: voluptuous myrrh, golden honey, red wine, and sweet flowers.

In the vial: syrupy sweet.

Wet: sweet, faintly spicy. Perhaps the spicy is the myrhh.

Drydown: more of the myrrh is evident, still a little honey. Very pleasant the whole way.

Deserves another try, using more. I liked it.

BPAL: Thanatopsis

A meditation upon death. Inspired by William Cullen Bryant's poem. A deep, solemn earthen scent containing pine, juniper and musk.

In the vial: Pine and juniper, nearly turpentiney.

Wet: Musky piney softness; mellows quickly.

Drydown: More musky, with a hint of pine; smells almost like cedar.

This is lovely, and a keeper.
