Elliptical reading was a Betty Neels novel, An Ideal Wife.
I've also been re-reading a very old romance/mystery by Anne McCaffrey, The Mark of Merlin whose details had completely vanished from my mind - original reading was very fast back in 1987 or 1988 or so, a borrowed copy that I had to quickly return. I had completely forgotten it was set during WWII, for example.
I have a lunch date today and another one on Friday - thus will I not only get to see friends, but I will be forced to leave my dayjob desk for an hour. Planning on a movie Friday night, with another friend. Tomorrow night will be devoted to the Adorable Tots.
