Ah, hermiting

I'm not really hermiting but I sort of managed it last night by default. I went to the gym after a workday that seemed longer than usual, and then had to wait an extra 20 minutes for the bus (they skipped one, I think). I could have walked home by then, but I was tired plus I was standing there reading fanfic on my Kindle.

The story is a Kirk/Spock (I think it will end up being slash, anyway) from the revamp universe, apparently inspired by a piece of fan art in which Spock was drawn looking scruffy. It is quite entertaining.

So anyway, by the time I got a bus, I was really hungry, so I stopped and ate pepperoni and broccoli pizza. After working out, and then waiting, I was so hungry that it was extra delicious. Then I went home and hung up my soggy workout clothes and opened a book that arrived (Alice Guy Blach: Lost Visionary of the Cinema) and cooed over it a bit; by then it was pretty late, and I was short of sleep. I crawled into bed and read more of Gentlemen's Blood: A History of Dueling, which is pretty interesting, though I am a bit annoyed that every time there is supposed to be an apostrophe, there's a double quote mark. ??? This is a hardcover book, so formatting weirdness is not restricted to e-books!

My new lipstick arrived from Lime Crime. They have a new collection, Lip Noir, and I bought the black and the wine-red. I've tried a couple of pastels before and though they're interesting, they're not all that great on me, so I didn't try the chinchilla color. Anyway, the colors are really rich and don't seem as drying as my other lipsticks from them, a bright red and a fuchsia; neither do they seem to stain my lips as much, which might mean there's less pigment in them, but I suspect the company thought the staining was a bug rather than a feature. Today's the first day I've worn the wine red, so we'll see how it turns out. I love the color.
