This morning, attempted to mail a couple of packages, saw the line, and promptly departed. A second later, I realized that today would not be a good day to mail anything at all. I have a friend who used to go to the big central post office at 30th Street on Tax Day, just to watch the people. She said it was a tense but also festive atmosphere, sometimes with cookies.
