Things Done

1. Over the weekend, I read two books that are out February 5, for which I am writing previews. Well, I started one of them on Friday, but it still counts.

2. On Friday, I lifted weights for the first time since December. I was very stiff on Saturday, but Sunday was not too bad and I feel fine today, which means I did not overdo it. Overdoing it means 3-4 days of stiffness and pain.

3. On Sunday, I did very little of anything. I napped, messed with MP3s, and read. Then I went to see the Adorable Tots and they were Adorable at me. And on me. They are big enough now that I will not attempt to climb stairs with both of them hanging off me.

4. I've been thinking on ways to help myself eat less. I replaced my supply of protein-y snacks for my desk drawer, and have been eating breakfast that has protein and fat instead of just oatmeal.

5. I got a load of laundry done! I still have the one that's full of towels, sheets, and gym clothes.

I get so sore from weights and going to the gym- maybe I'm doing it wrong? I agree with eating protein for snacks and breakfast, it's really important not to just fill up on carbs. Ugh. I have such a hard time with that!

Maybe you're doing too much, and that's why you're sore? I was told to try less weight if I got too sore. I just get impatient and jump up the weight if I get bored. Another problem with me is that I've only been lifting once a week, so I never really adjust, but if I adjust, I won't form new muscle cells.

Supposedly, if you can do more than 3 sets of 15 easily, then the weight isn't enough and you should go up a little (I assume you wouldn't get sore if it wasn't difficult).
