less than one week!

I am departing for an academic romance conference early next Sunday morning, followed by the RWA conference, and I totally need to pack. It's a complicated process because there are two conferences in two different places, plus I'll be attending a couple of semi-formal events, which means additional clothes to think about. Plus I need to carry promotional bookmarks and postcards.

Made a preliminary packing list yesterday. Will be spending most of my evenings this week refining it, making sure what I need is clean, and making sure it all fits in the suitcase. At least I'm going by bus, so I'm not limited to my small carry-on suitcase. I can take the medium-sized one.

Thank goodness for the mid-sized suitcase!

Your trip sounds really, truly fantastic - I am envious! I hope you'll post a few pictures and notes.

May I ask about your bookmarks and postcards - did you have them made yourself? I'm looking into doing this for At the Boardwalk, and am hoping to get them made soon (so I can write notes to booksellers on the back of the postcards before a mid-fall mailing).

I hope to post pictures over in the pro blog - will link from here.

I have no Photoshop skills (or software) so I paid someone to do the design, and had them printed by Iconix. Here's the initial blog post I did, with the bookmark image - http://www.victoriajanssen.com/2010/06/taking-the-bookmark-plunge/

and the back of my postcard - http://www.victoriajanssen.com/2010/09/promotional-bookmarks/

Moo.com does my business cards, which feature my book covers - I cannot recommend them highly enough for the high quality of the paper and printing.
